Noorderlicht photofestival

Noorderlicht calls on photographers and curators to submit their work or proposals for the 2011 Noorderlicht Photofestival: METROPOLIS - City Life in the Urban Age.

Portfolio Review

Michael Itkoff from Daylight magazine will be in Rochester on Wednesday, January 1/26 from 5-8pm. He will hold a portfolio review/group critique at RIT. Jenny Glanton will put up a sign up sheet for this. Availability is on a first come first served basis. Grads sign up first then undergrads.

PHOTOESPAÑA

Descubrimientos PHE is PHotoEspaña´s portfolio review, offering photographers the opportunity to present their work to curators and editors specialized in the field with the objective of generating professional outlets for their work.

From June 2 to 4, 2011 to participants will present their portfolios to eight professionals in individual 20-minute appointments.

All of the participants will opt for the Descubrimientos PHE Award, consisting in an individual exhibition in PHotoEspaña 2012.

Charles Arnold Lecture Series: Kareem Black

Kareem Black is a New York-based photographer and director. Born in Philadelphia, Kareem attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and began his professional career in 2000. Kareem’s editorial and advertising clients include Flaunt, Fader, GQ, Vibe, Verizon, Burger King, Vitamin Water and Kool Aid and many others.

Black’s presentation is part of the Charles Arnold Lecture Series. Arnold is a former RIT photography professor who has won national and international awards as a photographer, printmaker and xerographic artist.
