Image Concious

Archey received her BA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008, and currently conducts original research on the relationship of the Internet to contemporary art discourse. She has recently contributed to the forthcoming monograph of New York-based artist Patrick Meagher, edited by Uta Grosenick.

InternActive

InternActive was born out of enthusiasm and experience. As a grad student (we can’t say when) our leader, Lydia Johnson, pulled a harpsichord worth of strings to land an internship with the curator of antiquities at the J. Paul Getty Museum. For a student of the humanities, an internship in the vaults of the villa overlooking the Pacific was an awe-inspiring opportunity.

Diploma and white gloves in hand, our artifact lover eventually became a Professor and Museum Director herself. She took students under her wing, nurtured them, and placed them in internships. The student/mentor relationship was electric. Time and time again, Lydia found that an enthusiastic student and a knowledgeable supervisor made a great team and each benefited from the experience. That’s why InternActive was created.
